QCS 2000

Utilities Menu

This window gives you access to system utility functions:

Set Up Playback gives you access to the details of the Store/Playback system, an optional subsystem which allows QCS 2000 data to be stored on a hard drive and retrieved on demand. Use Set Up Playback to select or unselect up to eight variables from one or more applications to be stored, turn variable storage and playback on and off, set the number of data points, and set time parameters.

Display Spectrum provides a graphical display of the frequency content of any two QCS variables. Clear SRAM can be used to erase all data modules so you can reburn to a previously saved configuration.

Display Bars brings up a window which allows you to display the changing values of up to 69 array elements from a single application.

Set Clock allows you to set the date and time for the system so the playback and message systems will display the correct information.

Set Password can be used to set a system password to prevent unauthorized users from changing the operation of the process control application.

Backup to Flash gives you the option of saving your configuration module, BDFs, CON files, and message files onto FLASH. You only need to use this option occasionally, because data is automatically stored in battery-backed SRAM.

Restore from Flash allows you to restore all the files and modules stored on FLASH. When you click this button, a message will appear warning you that FLASH will overwrite all your SRAM data. If you do not want to lose this data, click on cancel; otherwise, click on OK to proceed with the operation.

Set Up Chart Recorder brings up a window that allows you to specify the information that will be sent to a chart recorder. This includes selecting the signal and logical variables to be displayed on the recorder, and choosing left and right margin settings.

Delete Files allows you to delete unwanted BDF, CON or MSG files. Clicking on this button will bring up a File Browser window so you can select files to delete.

Edit Message File allows you to make changes in a message file. Clicking on this button will bring up a File Browser that will allow you to select a particular message file to edit.

Load Message File loads a message file for use with the present set of applications. The message file that will be loaded is the one specified in the Application System Configuration window. Only one message file can be loaded at a time.

The Help button, as usual, will display help information pertinent to this section of QCS 2000.
