Main Menu

This window is the system's main menu. The three buttons at the top of the menu lead to other menus for configuration, utilities and help.At the center of the screen are a textlist containing descriptions of all the configured applications and an output box specifying the currently selected application. The buttons at the bottom of the menu bring up windows which allow you to deal with the selected application.

In this demo, you can click the on-screen buttons on the main menu (or the links in the descriptions below) to get information about the next level of screens.

The main menu screen provides access to two nested menus for system-wide setup and maintenance:

  • The Configuration Menu provides access to the windows for configuring the VME cage, the application setup, and the network system.
  • The Utilities Menu provides access to functions involving the message system and the chart recorder. In addition, you may backup, restore or delete files from this menu. Optional features, such as the spectrum analyzer and variable storage and playback, are also accessed from the menu.

Several other functions involving a particular selected application are also available from the QCS 2000 menu. On the main menu screen you would choose an application by clicking in the textlist (in this demo, an application has been chosen for you); then click the on-screen buttons below the textlist to perform functions on the selected application:

  • Edit File allows you to edit a block diagram file (BDF) or constant (CON) file using the advanced MicroEMACS editor.
  • Compile Application processes an application's BDF(s) and CON file, checks for errors, and creates modules that are used for execution.
  • Start/Stop Tasks allows you to begin or terminate execution of a single task or an entire application.
  • Display Variables allows you to view a dynamic update of up to ten signal and twelve logical values during execution.
  • Tune Constants allows you to change values of constants declared in the application's CON file. Values may be changed following a compile or during task execution.

Finally, the Help button is available throughout the QCS 2000 system. The contents of the Help window will change to reflect the window from which it is accessed.
