Compile

After a new file has been written or changes have been made to an existing file, the first step toward executing tasks is to compile the BDF. During a successful compile, the QCS 2000 compiler builds memory modules for each task; these modules contain information essential to task execution.

The Check Errors button will attempt to compile the BDF but does not replace existing program modules. This is useful for checking syntax and other errors without extending down time. You may use this function at any time, even if the tasks for this application are currently running.

The Compile and Replace button will also check for errors while compiling the BDF. If no errors are found, this function will replace the existing program modules with the new compiled version. All tasks must be stopped or the compile process will not finish.

The Help button, as usual, will display help information pertinent to this section of QCS 2000.
